Dear Church Members and Pastors,
We are so excited about having you all come and join us for our First annual Monticello YouthFest! YouthFest will be held this year from September 3-5, 2010, and is limited to youth ages 13-18. Everything will begin Friday evening, September 3 at 5:00 p.m.
We just want to pass a few details on to you so that everything on the poster makes sense to you. The registration fee of $25 covers 5 meals (one on Friday evening, three on Saturday and one on Sunday morning), the Saturday evening concert, and one T-shirt. If you could aim to send your registration forms off by August 1 that would be great. This is not required for attendance, but it will help us to determine how large the group is going to be this year. You will need to bring sleeping bags and towels, etc., and your youth groups will be able to camp out on our Church property. Running water and bathrooms with showers are available. RV parking with out hooks are available. Our featured speaker for the weekend is Marquan Buchanan. A powerful and inspiring speaker, Marquan has been preaching for five years. He started at the age of eight years old.
He is a sought after speaker and has preached in several states with in the United Stated. He is known for making complex biblical topics clear and so understandable that even a child can comprehend. His challenges us with Acts 5:29 “We ought to obey God rather than Man” “I am standing for the Lord and compromise is not an option!” he says and “I pray you will stand too” Our featured musical guests will be Maria Long. She will be performing acoustic music throughout the weekend. Maria is a Christian singer/songwriter from Arkansas. She has been named one of the top 15 independent Christian artists in the nation by CCM Magazine. Her debut album Here With Me (2006) has received local and national attention on TV and radio. Maria is currently working on her new album, which will be entitled Speak, and her single from this album, Find Me, hits radio this Spring. Maria is passionate about helping youth to see God more clearly and fall in love with Him. You can check out our musician her music at www.myspace.com/marialong. Included are two forms that you need to fill out. The registration form needs to be filled out with the names of all the students and sponsors in the group that you are bringing and sent in with a check, as described on the form. Sponsors must be 21 years of age or older, must supervise their youth group throughout the weekend, and must stay the night with their youth group (whether it is onsite or at a local hotel). The consent form needs to be copied and filled out by each teen and a parent. These consent forms cover permission to treat the teens in a medical emergency while here at YouthFest. Extra forms and posters will be available to be downloaded and printed out at www.arklayouthministries.org. For answers to further questions, you may contact me on my cell at (870) 723-9997 or by email at crowja@arkansas.net. An additional information sheet has been included for directions to the Monticello SDA Church and for hotel information if you would prefer not to camp out at the church. We are praying for you all and look forward to seeing you soon.
Blessings,
